Heather Locklear is considered one of the most beautiful women on the planet. She is also just like every other human being.
You all know I am a staunch supporter of tough action against those convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. I am not making an exception of her case, or being lenient on her because she is pretty.
Paparazzi Call in DUI
First, it is strange that a celebrity news reporter, aka a member of the famed paparazzi, called police to let them know Locklear was driving and appeared to be drunk. She then followed Locklear until police caught up with her. The paparazzi in question, Jill Ishkanian, never stopped her shutter snapping shot after shot of a makeup-less and dazes Locklear.
Making the story seem even fishier, her attorney claimed the two women had a chance encounter at a grocery store and his client was only serving the public good.
The former "Dynasty" and "Melrose Place" star was arrested Saturday night in what appeared to be a standard celebrity mishap.
According to the California Highway Patrol, when officers responded to the scene, Locklear's car was obstructing the traffic lane, and she "appeared to be disoriented."
The Plot Thickens
Ishkanian did not credit herself with taking the photographs because she is involved in a $55 million lawsuit against her former employers at Us Weekly, making her a "persona non grata in the industry."
This would not be the first time the paparazzi set up a celebrity. There is the famous video where a member of the press lured the late Heath Ledger to a party with cocaine and later sold the tape the “Inside Edition” for $200K.
Britney Spears also was set-up by paparazzi in 2007 when they accused her of running over one of their feet.
Long story short – Heather’s case was dismissed as she had no alcohol in her system and she pled down to a minor infraction. Motto – do not drive after using any kind of drug – including prescription pain killers!
