This is the fifth in a series of blogs exploring why a young cadre of British professional women and mothers have taken up to go bar hopping and getting very drunk quite often.
When last we left of professional women: school teachers, nurses and mothers are all out bar-hopping, getting drunk and quite often performing acts which later cause them great embarrassment are staggering around the streets of Wales. As reported in www.dailymail.co.uk.
The ritual continues long into the morning when, dulled by hangovers, they congregate for McDonald's or fried breakfasts trying to soak up some of the booze.
Why do these women continue to abuse their bodies and souls like this? Does acting like a drunken college student make them that happy and fulfilled? The answer to both questions is a resounding no.
Yet many will continue to make themselves violently ill the night they drink and hung over the next day. They do this week in and week out.
What quickly becomes apparent is the ease with which these young women distinguish their responsible weekday personas from their 'fun' selves. They are quickly becoming functional alcoholics.
But alcohol is progressive and it will catch up with them. The time to stop this behavior is right now. We will continue with this topic tomorrow and I would love to hear from some of my young, British, professional, female readers. Maybe they could benefit from an alcohol awareness class from http://onlinealcoholclass.com/
