Have you been convicted of a DUI offense in the State of New York? Or has a judge asked you to take a 16 Hour Impaired Driving Program? If so you may be eligible for an online class. Online Alcohol Class offers a 16-hour class to meet these requirements.
In New York, the consequences of alcohol-related or drug-related violations or any driving crime while under the influence can be quite harsh. Frequently, your license will be suspended or revoked by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The completion of the Impaired Driving Program (IDP) is specifically designed to allow a person to apply for a conditional driver’s license.
Class Details
The IDP program consists of 16 hours of education. Blue Mountain Education’s IDP class has been designed by a team of professionals and has been determined to be evidence-based by the North Dakota Department of Behavioral Health.
The class consists of reading, graphs, videos and multi-media presentations. Each section is timed so it will take 16 hours to complete the program.
Only individuals who have not participated in an IDP program or Drinking Driver Program (DDP) in the past five years are eligible to take the IDP class. DDP was the previous name for the IDP initiative.
If you are a resident of the state of New York, you are generally required take this IDP Program in-person unless you have special permission from the court monitor. This class is not approved for NY DMV requirements. However, if you are an out-of-state resident, then you may take an online class.

Purpose
The primary reason people enroll in an IDP class to obtain a conditional license. The purpose of the program is to reduce both future accidents resulting from impaired driving and the injuries and deaths that occur from such incidents. It is the truest purpose of the course to point out high-risk behaviors and reduce the risk of those who have been convicted of driving under the influence from re-offense.
Process
The process begins by enrolling in the Impaired Driver Program at the DMV office listed on the “Order of Suspension or Revocation.” While at the DMV you should apply for your conditional license. After applying for the IDP you will need to complete the course in order to have your driving privileges to be re-instated. Failure to complete the program will trigger the revocation of your conditional license.
Certificate of Completion
Upon successfully completing all aspects of the IDP class, all students will receive a Certificate of Completion. There is no additional cost for the Notice of Completion.
Please note: it is your responsibility to find out whether our IDP class is accepted for your requirements. It is a distance-learning program intended solely for educational purposes. Most NY residents are not eligible for this class without prior permission from the court to take an online program. Although our program includes a money-back guarantee, it’s in your best interest to check with your court or other legal organization to determine whether they will accept this class.
